After buying a domain and hosting, the domain must point to the correct website or server location. This is usually done with nameservers or DNS records. The safest rule is simple: use the exact DNS or nameserver details provided in your Auxodomain service instructions, order email, or support response.
Do not guess nameservers
Nameserver values must be exact. If the domain is registered at Auxodomain and the hosting is also managed through Auxodomain, follow the values shown in the Client Area or setup instructions. If you are unsure, open a support ticket instead of replacing nameservers with random values found online.
Common DNS records
- A record: points a domain or subdomain to an IPv4 address.
- AAAA record: points to an IPv6 address.
- CNAME: points one hostname to another hostname.
- MX: controls email routing.
- TXT: used for verification, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and security records.
Recommended workflow
- Confirm where the website will be hosted.
- Open the service details or setup email.
- Copy DNS or nameserver values exactly.
- Update the domain DNS only when you understand the change.
- Wait for propagation and test the website, email, and SSL.
Before changing live DNS
If the domain already runs a website or email, document current DNS records first. This helps avoid downtime and makes rollback easier if something goes wrong.
